Opportunity Overview
The Field Force Excellence Director is a strategic role responsible for enhancing the capabilities, performance, and efficiency of the commercial and medical field teams. This position requires a blend of strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of field operations. The Director will collaborate with the senior leadership of the International region, the cross-functional teams and the local teams to implement programs and initiatives that drive field force effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency across the field force.

Responsibilities and Duties
Leadership & Approach Development:
- Develop and execute the field force excellence approach to align with company culture, goals and objectives.
- Support and mentor field leaders to drive performance and professional development.
- Ensure that field teams are equipped with the tools, training, and resources needed to meet and exceed objectives.
Field Performance Optimization:
- Analyze field data to identify performance gaps and areas for improvement.
- Work with General Managers (GMs) & local field teams to implement programs that optimize field effectiveness.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance knowledge, skills and capabilities of the field force.
Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency:
- Identify inefficiencies in field operations and recommend process improvements.
- Drive the implementation of best practices across the field force.
- Oversee the adoption and integration of omnichannel engagement to streamline field force operations, productivity, and efficiency.
- Support and drive the field force seizing required to obtain the company’s objectives and be a sparring partner to the GMs to ensure the right field team structures.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with international marketing, medical, and the country teams to ensure alignment of field approaches and initiatives.
- Provide input on product launches and campaigns to ensure successful execution at the field level.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels across departments to share insights and feedback.
Data Analytics & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure field force effectiveness.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to senior leadership on field force performance, initiatives, and challenges.
- Use data-driven insights to refine programs and improve decision-making.
Change Management & Innovation:
- Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of omnichannel engagement, tools, and technologies within the field force.
- Continuously seek innovative approaches to improve the performance and efficiency of the field teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in science, pharmacy or medical science, Masters in Marketing and/or Business Administration a plus
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in field sales, operations, or related roles, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership position on an international level
- Experience in both larger pharmaceutical as rare disease companies preferred
- Proven track record of developing and executing field excellence programs that drive measurable results
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actions
- Experience with CRM systems, field performance tools, and data analysis software
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead matrix teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Knowledge of change management methodologies and experience in leading transformational projects
- Familiarity with field force automation tools and technologies
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
