Opportunity Overview
The Senior Regional Account Manager (RAD) is responsible for establishing and maintaining strategic relationships that enable optimal market access for Rhythm Pharmaceuticals rare orphan neuroendocrine drug IMCIVREE. This includes engagement across IDNs with any attached Academic Centers, regional health systems, and select regional payer/PBM accounts.  The role also includes direct outreach to large scale employers and associated risk brokers for the purpose of gaining access for self-funded benefit programs as needed. The position will be aligned with specific top accounts and regions by need and as defined by the commercial organization.  The individual will partner cross-functionally across Field Access, Patient Services, Medical Affairs and Sales to ensure alignment and successful promotion of broad scale access for IMCIVREE in addition to providing support to the National Account Directors (NAD) and the Field Access Management (FAM) team.  The position reports into a National Account Director.

This role is field based and candidates must be able to work across US time zones.    

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Define areas of need and potential for growth within each account grouping.
  • Translate national brand and access strategies into an actionable engagement plan across IDNs regional health systems, select regional payers/PBMs, large scale employers and associated risk brokers.
  • Lead account strategy and execution focused on accounts where Imcivree criteria/access is lacking and accounts where access can be improved.
  • Establish and maintain Pharmacy Team/P&T and decision-maker relationships with aligned key accounts to support educational programs, market access initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
  • Maintain cross-functional collaboration with Commercial field teams to proactively identify and resolve access or reimbursement barriers.
  • Provide support to Field Access Team as needed.
  • Track and analyze business opportunities and market dynamics to provide strategic and tactical insights that inform access and commercial strategy.
  • Share the voice of the customer internally by sharing insights with brand teams, field leadership, and market access stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing strategic feedback and insights to Commercial leadership regarding market dynamics, pathway decisions, and account priorities.
  • Develop mid-to-long-term strategic engagement plans that support new drug indication launches.
  • Facilitate advanced clinical information exchanges between Rhythm Pharmaceuticals Medical Affairs and key customers.
  • Proactively communicate emerging opportunities or risks and mobilize internal resources to address them.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews with internal stakeholders to monitor performance and alignment.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience across a combination of strategic key and regional account management, market access, field access management or other related commercial/patient support roles.
  • Expertise and strong, established relationships across IDNs, Health Systems, select regional payers/PBMs would be preferred, along with some understanding of self-funded employer plan insurance
  • Experience supporting pipeline products and upcoming product launches.
  • Demonstrated understanding of rare orphan medications, market dynamics and decision-making process for pharmacy benefit drug delivery, with a strong ability to clearly communicate the value and need for rare orphan products to the payer community
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with a track record of achieving outcomes aligned with company objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across Patient Services, Field Access, Medical Affairs and Sales and Marketing.
  • Ability to work across time zones and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for customer meetings, industry conferences, and internal meetings.
This role is field based. Candidates applying must be willing and able to travel and have easy access to transportation and airports.

The expected salary range for this position is $160,000-240,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance. This role may be eligible for benefits and other compensation such as restricted stock units.
