Reporting to the EVP, Head of International, the General Manager plays a pivotal role in Rhythm’s global expansion by leading strategy and operations within a designated territory. This role is responsible for driving business success across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria (GSA), ensuring alignment with global and international objectives while tailoring approaches to local market dynamics.

Reporting to the EVP, Head of International, the General Manager plays a pivotal role in Rhythm’s global expansion by leading strategy and operations within a designated territory. This role is responsible for driving business success across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria (GSA), ensuring alignment with global and international objectives while tailoring approaches to local market dynamics.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Own the strategic direction and operational execution for the GSA region, including full P&L accountability and cross-functional coordination
- Lead development and implementation of local launch plans that align with global and international strategies and tactics
- Develop and implement local reimbursement strategy; lead pricing negotiations with local payors
- Build and sustain high-trust relationships with healthcare professionals, external experts, patient organizations, policymakers, payors, regulators, and industry associations
- Provide both strategic and hands-on leadership to drive performance and adaptability in a dynamic environment
- Contribute to the organization’s overall strategy and provide timely insights to senior leadership on opportunities, challenges, risks, and adjust country plans as needed
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing culture within the international team and serve as a key integrator with global functions
- Ensure adherence to local laws, ethical standards, and corporate compliance policies while optimizing resource utilization

Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant academic degree in life sciences, business, or a related field
- Minimum of 12+ years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, including at least 3 years as a country/business lead in Germany with a proven track record of success
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale national organizations, fostering high performance and sustainable growth
- Strong history of successful market access (price and reimbursement) negotiations in the GSA region
- Experience in leading and executing successful product launches in complex healthcare environments
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders, payors, policymakers, agencies, external experts and patient associations
- Experience in rare diseases and/or high value medicine is highly preferred
- Challenges the status quo and operates with a sense of urgency to deliver impactful results
- Excellent communication and presentation skills - fluent in local language for the market and in verbal and written English
- Commercial acumen and financially savvy
- High ethical standards, a collaborative mindset, and a hands-on approach to leadership
- Innovative and creative
