Opportunity Overview
Rhythm Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing. As an integral member of the Clinical Operations team, this individual will assist with the sourcing of goods and services for our clinical research function, work to improve the sourcing experience, and implement supplier relationship management best practices. The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing will also help identify opportunities for standardization and continuous process improvement in Procurement/Sourcing Management, while optimizing scope and cost.

Rhythm Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing. The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing will also help identify opportunities for standardization and continuous process improvement in Procurement/Sourcing Management, while optimizing scope and cost.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Support the strategic sourcing process by engaging with vendors around company needs across multiple disciplines including Clinical, Regulatory, and IT.
- Participate in the development of RFI and RFP documents and questions, and work with teams to ensure appropriate specifications for outsourced services are defined and communicated to vendors. Organize internal meetings to drive vendor selection discussions.
- In conjunction with the legal team, support all functions in the contracting process and for all contracting needs.
- Partner with the functional teams and with Finance to manage the change order review and approval process and ensure that changes in scope and cost are verified and budget updates are captured at the functional level.
- Maintain and manage clinical budgets for all ongoing studies
- Support engagement with internal stakeholders and to establish communication channels between the cross-functional teams around the vendor contracting process.
- Support Vendor Management and Supplier Relationship management programs
- Educate end-users on Strategic Sourcing and Procurement policies and procedures through daily interactions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, and/or combination of education and experience
- 6+ years’ experience (minimum of 3 years supporting clinical operations sourcing, procurement, project management or similar discipline)
- Working in the biotech environment is preferred. Exposure to clinical trials is preferred.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications and working within an ERP system (i.e., MS D365, SAP, Oracle) environment
- Curious learner with capability to ask the right questions, help frame logical conclusions, and arrive at effective solutions
- Strong ability to communicate and collaborate across the global organization.
- Strong vendor management and/or supplier relationship management skillset
- Robust organizational and time management skills
- Solid quantitative skill set and the ability to analyze, think and communicate with well-supported data to drive procurement best practices.
